JF Maintenance (JFM) is a family-run carpentry and property maintenance business serving Geelong, the Surf Coast, the Bellarine Peninsula and Golden Plains. Established 2012, trade in the family since the 1950s - three generations, one standard.

The work: repairs, renovations, fit-outs, decking, heritage carpentry and coordinated multi-trade jobs for residential, commercial, government and property-management clients. No two days look the same - one morning's a repair, the next's a heritage job, the one after that's a fit-out. You'll work independently and as part of a small crew, often as the only tradesperson a client meets.

What you'll do: interpret plans and specs, measure, cut, shape and assemble timber and materials, keep a safe and clean site, complete the SWMS before starting, record work against the job in Ascora, and - this is the part most carpenters don't get elsewhere - you're trusted to spot extra work worth doing on site and raise it, not just run a fixed scope and leave.

What's on offer: full time employment, $35-40 an hour depending on experience and what you bring to the crew, a company ute and fuel card,



all PPE and specialty tools supplied (bring your own hand tools - the Award tool allowance covers that), uniform provided and replaced annually, straight 8-hour days, and no on-call, no after-hours work. Fortnightly pay, 4 weeks annual leave plus loading, and a 2-week Christmas shutdown every year.

What we're after: a trade-qualified carpenter (apprenticeship completed) with genuine experience across repairs and general carpentry, not just first-fix framing on new builds. Current driver's licence, White Card, and willingness to hold a Police Check and Working With Children Check - some of our sites need them. Picked up other trade experience along the way, like plastering, painting or tiling? Mention it. We're hiring a carpenter first, but it genuinely counts in your favour.
