Role Description The Casual Call Manager role is responsible for managing after-hours calls from NDIS and Aged Care and Child Services providers, including triaging incidents, assessing risk, and coordinating appropriate escalations in line with organisational policies and procedures.

A significant part of the role will involve after-hours rostering and shift backfill, including responding to unexpected vacancies, contacting available staff, working within provider rostering systems, coordinating replacement coverage and escalating unresolved staffing gaps in line with agreed provider processes.The Casual Call Manager will document call details, actions taken, and outcomes to support governance, compliance, and incident reporting requirements.





Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring incoming calls and alerts, providing clear and calm guidance to frontline staff, liaising with on-call leaders and external stakeholders, and ensuring communication pathways remain structured and consistent.

The role also involves contributing to continuous improvement of escalation protocols, adhering to quality and safeguarding standards, and supporting a resilient after-hours service environment.

This is not a direct-support role. You will not provide face-to-face services or have in-person contact with participants, aged care recipients, children or young people.

The role will start slowly, with approximately one to two eight-hour shifts per month. There will be opportunities to pick up additional shifts as they arise, including a small run of shifts over the Christmas period. We are looking for someone who is happy to begin gradually and grow with Knight OnCall over time.

Availability required

You must be available for after-hours work, including:

- Active shift work from 4.00 pm to 10.00 pm
- Being available to answer calls between 10.00 pm and 6.00 am
- Eight-hour weekend shifts across the full day
- Availability to work additional shifts when operational needs arise

About you

You will have

- At least five years’ management experience in the care sector
- Demonstrated after-hours or on-call experience




- Experience in NDIS, aged care, child safety, child protection, youth services or a related care environment
- Experience managing rosters, urgent shift vacancies, workforce coordination or staff backfill
- Confidence using rostering and workforce-management systems, or the ability to learn current systems quickly
- Strong judgement and the ability to remain calm and practical during complex situations
- Confidence managing operational issues, staffing concerns, incidents and escalations remotely
- The ability to contact staff professionally and persistently when urgent cover is required
- Excellent communication, documentation and computer skills
- A reliable, private home workspace, stable internet and the ability to work independently overnight

Screening and pre-employment requirements The successful applicant will be required to meet Knight OnCall’s pre-employment and screening requirements, including:

- Verified right to work in Australia
- Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance
- Appropriate Working With Children Check, Blue Card or equivalent clearance
- Satisfactory referee checks
- Completion of required induction, training and competency sign-off
