This role involves supporting a number of Participants with varying levels of disability and support needs within their own homes and out in the community. While this is not a traditional SIL house setting, many supports are similar in nature to SIL-style supports, with a strong focus on personal care, daily living assistance, routine-based support, and promoting independence within the Participant's home setting.
Key responsibilities
- Personal care and daily living assistance
- Community access and social support
- Assisting Participants to attend appointments and activities
- Domestic assistance and meal preparation
- Medication prompting/administering (where applicable)
- Supporting Participants to achieve their individual goals
- Providing structured, routine-based supports within Participants' own homes
About you
- Experience within Disability Support, SIL-style supports, Personal Care or similar highly regarded
- A minimum of 12 months experience in disability support, aged care, or related fields is essential
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or similar preferred
- Strong communication skills and confidence working independently
- Proven initiative, dependability, and a practical, participant-focused approach to support work
- Ability to adapt to Participants with varying support needs and behaviours
- Current Driver's Licence
- Reliable and insured vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Blue Card / Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- NDIS Orientation Module Certificate
- Smartphone and basic technology skills for progress notes and reporting
- Manual handling experience
- Fine with Large dogs that live inside and outside the home
