Position title: Casual Personal Safety Trainer

Reports to: Guardian PST Directors or Appointed Senior Manager

Direct reports: Nil The focus of the Personal Safety Trainer is to deliver a high level of specialised personal safety training to Guardian PST clients, so they walk away feeling empowered and confident in their ability to implement what they have learnt.

Further responsibilities for the role will be to contribute to the ongoing development of training/assessment resources, programming of work and ongoing personal development programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities

Performance

- Provision of personal safety training to clients across all vocations and locations as directed, using relevant and approved Guardian PST documentation.
- Ensure consistent and effective education is delivered to Guardian PST clients.
- Work to keep training programs vibrant and entertaining in order to maintain audience engagement.
- Undertake monitoring and evaluation strategies during each training session to ensure all areas are presented, understood and maximise client participation.
- Undertake assessments as and when required, ensuring all participants are given the opportunity to effectively complete the course using adult learning techniques.
- Check and qualify the completion of attendance logs for each training course presented.
- Ensure the timely delivery of post-course documentation to Guardian PST management.

Administration

- Prepare hard copy training materials and electronic presentations for attendees as required and within set budget.




- Recommend management strategies to administration targeted to increase efficiency and effectiveness and generate increased revenue.
- Provide subject matter expertise input to the design and development of designated technical training content and learning resource materials for ongoing delivery of training and assessment.
- Maintain compliance with Guardian PST‘s WHS policies and procedures, safe work practices and any other identified work health and safety requirements.
- Uphold the values and comply with operational policies and procedures of Guardian PST.

Qualified Standards

- Participate in any continuous quality improvement programmes that Guardian PST provide to ensure continuous improvement of personal education skills.
- Maintain positive working relationships with fellow Guardian PST Trainers, management and clients.

Potential challenges Potential challenges associated with this role include:

- Flexibility, professionalism, and good organisational skills to educate groups of all sizes, ages and cultures.
- The requirement to work outside of traditional Monday to Friday working hours.
- Role requirements which may include travel both intrastate and interstate.

Position requirements

Qualifications





- Certificate IV in Training and Education (desirable)
- Bachelor of Education, or equivalent (desirable)

Experience

- Demonstrated experience in delivering education programmes to a variety of audiences.
- Has effectively participated in the preparation of training materials to ensure best-practice outcomes.
- Experience in Martial arts and/or crowd control, security, etc. (desirable)

Skills

- Demonstrated skills in effective delivery of educational programs/courses.
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate with groups of all sizes, ages and cultures.
- Impressive ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Possess an independent work style with the ability to contribute to a small team of professionals.
- Ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint to ensure delivery of professional presentations.
- Martial arts and/or crowd control, security skills desirable.
