Catering Assistant – Casual Aged Care Work | Wollongong Area

Experienced in catering or food service and looking for casual work around Wollongong? If you have your own car, can get to different aged care sites, and you're someone we can rely on when you accept a shift, this could suit you.

A lot of our bookings come up at short notice. You don't need to be available for everything, but when you say yes to a shift, we need you there.

Alseasons Hospitality Staff is recruiting experienced Catering Assistants for casual bookings across aged care facilities in the Wollongong area.

What you’ll be doing

Depending on the booking, duties may include:

- Assisting with meal preparation
- Plating and serving meals
- Basic food handling
- Preparing and clearing dining and service areas
- Dishwashing and kitchen cleaning
- Maintaining food hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Following site-specific food safety and service procedures
- Supporting the onsite catering team with general kitchen duties
- Working independently or alongside the onsite team

What you’ll need

- Previous catering, kitchen or food service experience
- Your own car and reliable transport
- Robust reliability and punctuality
- Able to respond to short-notice shift requests
- Comfortable travelling to different aged care sites across the Wollongong area
- Comfortable working around residents and onsite care teams
- Able to follow food safety, hygiene and site-specific procedures
- Comfortable adapting to different sites and catering duties

Required compliance

To be considered for these aged care bookings, you’ll need:
- A current Police Check
- Valid working rights in Australia





These requirements need to be confirmed before you can be placed into shifts.

What to expect

This isn't one Catering Assistant role at one location. Different aged care clients have different requirements, and shifts can become available at short notice. One booking may focus on meal preparation and plating. Another may involve meal service, dishwashing, cleaning and general kitchen support.

You need to be comfortable walking into different sites, following the booking requirements and getting on with the work.

Most importantly, if you accept a shift, we need to know you’ll be there. Reliability is a key part of this role.
