About the role

Gympie Sports Club is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Chef/Cook to support the current Head Chef in leading this passionate kitchen team. This position offers the platform to showcase your skills and talent in our dynamic hospitality industry.

Key responsibilities

- Daily food preparation in accordance with food safety standards and practices

- Prepare appropriate food quantities for daily service

- Keep up-to-date with new products, recipes and preparation techniques

- Work in all areas of the kitchen

- Support the Head Chef in the management of all kitchen staff

- Participate with other kitchen sections in cleanliness, wastage and cost control

- Complete weekly stocktakes

- Ensure compliance with all aspects of the Food Licence

- Ensure our customer expectations are exceeded at every interaction

About you

- At least two years' experience working in a hands-on, team focused bistro style kitchen





- Knowledge of cooking practices as they apply to the relevant venue's menu

- Knowledge on stock control

- Work well under pressure and be able to multi-task
- An uncompromising attitude towards high food quality, presentation and safety

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A cheerful, positive attitude towards your work, customers and team members

- Flexible availability
