Role Description The Civil Engineering Draftsperson is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW. This position is responsible for preparing detailed civil engineering drawings and documentation for infrastructure projects such as roads, stormwater systems, and urban developments. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting engineering designs, producing accurate technical drawings using CAD software, updating plans based on engineer and client feedback, and ensuring all documentation meets relevant standards and compliance requirements.





The draftsperson will collaborate closely with civil engineers and project teams, coordinate with other disciplines as needed, and support the delivery of practical, buildable solutions that align with project specifications and timelines.

Qualifications

- Civil Engineering Design and Civil Engineering Drafting skills for preparing detailed plans and layouts for roads, drainage, and other infrastructure.
- Technical Drawing and Engineering Drawings skills to interpret, develop, and revise accurate construction and documentation plans.
- Computer-Aided Design (CAD) proficiency (e.g., AutoCAD or similar tools) for producing, managing, and updating digital engineering drawings.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or diploma in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a closely related field.
- Understanding of local Australian standards, codes, and council requirements for civil works.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple drawing packages and deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders.
- Experience in consulting or construction environments, particularly within urban development or infrastructure projects, is an advantage.
