CLINICAL NURSE – Clinical Coordinator (Level 2)

About Adelaide Day Surgery

Adelaide Day Surgery is a free-standing Day Surgery, which provides operating room facilities for Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery, Vascular, Urology, Paediatric Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery.

The Clinical Coordinator manages the day to day running of the theatre and recovery ensuring staffing and skill mix is maintained to ensure patient safety and meet the needs of our customers.

This this is a permanent part-time position and contracted hours to be negotiated with the successful candidate. Full-time hours will be considered. Willingness to facilitate and learn all specialties is desired.

We are looking for vibrant, engaging, dedicated and highly motivated nurses with a robust clinical background. You will pride yourself in delivering excellent service and have a keen attention to detail.

This position will give leadership and direction to the nursing team and report directly to the Clinical Manager. Hands-on clinical involvement is a key component of this position with a focus on quality and review integrated within the responsibilities.

Duties of a Clinical Nurse will substantially include, but are not limited to:

- Daily management of the theatre and recovery teams, including the procedure rooms and CSSD;
- Provide clear communication to staff and our VMO’s and their practices;
- Ensure that risk management principles govern clinical practice including infection control and occupational health and safety;




- Assist management team to identify maintenance and equipment issues and report promptly;
- Assists with Education and Training calendar and rosters accordingly.
- Shifts will vary in length with availability from 0600-1800.
- Assist CEO/DoN and Clinical Manager with coordination phone after hours.
- As required clinical shifts in line with the successful applicant’s specialty and training will be rostered or assist in times of need.
- Assist the management team to ensure all staff adhere to the NSQHS.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated leadership and management ability including the capacity to initiate and support change within a team framework.
- A minimum of 5 years post registration experience in either Recovery, Anaesthetics or Theatre . Ability to demonstrate experience in a similar role an advantage

- Knowledge of · National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

· Occupational Health and Safety legislation

· Quality Improvement processes

- Well-developed organisational and decision-making skills.
- Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating nursing policies and procedures.
- Skilled in written and verbal communications.

- Intermediate computer skills.
- Current Working with Children Check.
