What you'll be doing

As the Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 - Clinical Practice, you will provide expert clinical leadership, consultancy and education across Auburn District Hospital. You will play a pivotal role in advancing evidence-based nursing practice, supporting quality improvement initiatives,



and fostering a culture of learning, excellence and accountability.

Key responsibilities include

· Lead and influence clinical practice standards, policy development, clinical pathway implementation and evidence-based models of care.

· Drive research activities, apply research findings to practice, and contribute to projects that improve patient outcomes and service delivery.

· Design, deliver and evaluate education programs, orientation initiatives and learning resources for nursing and multidisciplinary staff.

· Provide expert leadership, mentoring and clinical support to nurses, students and emerging practitioners while promoting professional development.

· Lead quality improvement, accreditation and NSQHS-related activities, monitor key performance indicators, and contribute to strategic service planning.

Essential Criteria:

· Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

· Minimum five (5) years postgraduate clinical experience in general & aged care nursing

Selection Criteria:

- Minimum five (5) years postgraduate clinical experience in general & aged care nursing with a range of clinical experiences. Holding or working towards relevant postgraduate tertiary qualifications in a specialty area, education and/or research.




- Demonstrated advanced communication including verbal, written and interpersonal skills and advanced information technology skills to provide consultancy services and deliver cutting-edge nursing practice
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively both independently and as part of the multidisciplinary health care team.
- Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement, practice development and evidence-based practice critical review
- Demonstrated personal attributes including resilience, accountability, integrity and ability to manage self
- Demonstrated ability to identify education needs and deliver education for patients/clients and health care professionals
- Demonstrated ability to function as a senior leader within a complex health organisation.
