About The Role

Community Mental Health Services provide a range of services designed to help support the recovery and help consumer stay well in the community. The team provide specialist services for young people, children and families, adults, and older people. Community mental health services include a specialist Aboriginal Mental Health Team, bilingual mental health workers and Peer Support Workers.

Our main sites are at Canterbury, Croydon, Camperdown, Marrickville, and Redfern Community Health Services. The role will be based at Camperdown.

This position aims to support evidenced-based care for the treatment and management of mental illness and psychological conditions for adolescents and their families and carers presenting to NSW health services in public settings. It outlines the implementation of appropriate care that is consistent with current guidelines and has been shown to be effective in the treatment and management of mental illness and psychological conditions within the Australian context.

Ideal Candidate

- Current registration with AHPRA and must hold a post graduate degree in clinical psychology (Masters,



and/or Doctorate or PhD) that provides eligibility for full membership of the APS and ACPA.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge, skill and clinical experience in the provision of clinical psychology interventions. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Insight Oriented Psychotherapy. Demonstrated skills in working with families.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and clinical experience in the provision of assessment and evidence based interventions with adolescents and their families / carers presenting with acute and complex mental health presentations.
