About The Role

Help tell the stories that showcase the impact of one of Australia's leading universities.

Swinburne is seeking a creative and collaborative Communications Adviser to join our central Communications team. In this role, you'll develop engaging content and communications that connect with staff, students and external audiences, helping bring to life the achievements, innovation and impact happening across the university.

Working primarily across Swinburne's Research portfolio and Indigenous engagement initiatives, you'll play a key role in identifying and sharing compelling stories through a range of channels, including digital, social media, video and media relations.

This is a varied and rewarding role for a communications professional who enjoys building strong relationships, uncovering great stories and translating complex ideas into clear, engaging content. From promoting groundbreaking research and innovation to highlighting student success, community partnerships and Indigenous initiatives, you'll help shape how Swinburne communicates with its audiences and celebrates its impact.

You'll collaborate with stakeholders across the university, contribute to integrated communication campaigns and create content that drives engagement across multiple channels. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who is curious, proactive and passionate about storytelling.

About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

- Demonstrated experience in using multiple communications channels to achieve communications objectives

- Excellent content production and editing skills combined with an ability to work under time pressure to produce high-quality communications materials.





- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds.

- Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to identify and analyse emerging opportunities with respect to their communication needs.

- Demonstrated experience in communications planning and experience.

- Previous experience in a communications, marketing, media relations, journalism or social media role.

Qualifications

Completion of a tertiary qualification with substantial relevant experience in corporate (external and internal) communications, PR, media, social media or a related field.
