Salary from: Stream A Level 2.1 ($74k) and Level 3.1 ($81k) + superannuation Location: Logan Central and Kingston, Qld, 4114 (based across two offices)

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Community Education Officer to join the City Safety and Liveability Branch within the Council. The branch delivers a diverse range of compliance-based services that uphold our city's safety and liveability. Ranging from parking to pets, biosecurity to illegal dumping, graffiti and much more, our branch is responsive and proactive in getting the job done.

As the Community Education Officer, you will develop and execute a range of engaging branch facing communication concepts. You are a skilled communications professional with strong written and verbal abilities, capable of translating key internal and external projects into compelling messages for diverse audiences. Creative, positive, and adaptable, you thrive in a agile environment and build strong relationships with ease.

This role plays a key part in driving effective stakeholder engagement, supporting all communication, and marketing activities across the branch.

Position responsibilities include:

- Support public relations, media, community events, and internal/external communication campaigns in collaboration with Corporate Communications.
- Prepare and maintain a wide range of communication materials aligned with brand guidelines, including briefings, presentations, social media, website content, and promotional collateral.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and manage communication risks.
- Communicate complex information clearly and manage demanding situations.
- Plan and deliver branch events that meet defined objectives and success measures.

Key indicators for success:

- Previous experience within internal communications is advantageous.
- Relevant industry certificates or qualifications in marketing, public relations, digital marketing, engagement or communications is highly desirable.
- Excellent Communication Skills - ability to simplify complex language and tell a story effectively.
- People Skills - Build relationships, network, negotiate, and collaborate with peers and stakeholder. Ability to drive positive long-term behaviour change through education, awareness, and enforcement.




- Communications Creation - develop engaging communications on CSL topics like parking, pets, biosecurity, illegal dumping, and graffiti. Experience in producing website, communications, and creating strategic content will be beneficial.
- Event Organisation - experience in organising internal (team culture) and external (community) events.
- Positive Attitude - a problem solver who thrives in a dynamic, ever-changing environment. From biosecurity to pet ownership, every day is different!
- Ability to pass all pre-employment and background checks as required.

- Level 2 starts at $74,011 + superannuation.
