Community Growth & Partnerships Lead3-month contract project | Sydney / Hybrid
Travengers creates opportunities for autistic and neurodivergent young adults to build friendships, independence, travel, try new experiences and feel part of a community.
Over the past six years, we’ve grown a strong community across social events, group experiences and travel. We’re now looking for an entrepreneurial Community Growth & Partnerships Lead to help us shape and test an exciting recent project, while strengthening the wider Travengers community.
This isn’t a traditional community-management role. We’re looking for someone who enjoys building things from an early stage, bringing people together and turning ideas into action.
What you’ll be working onWorking closely with the founder and existing Travengers team, you’ll help:
- Speak with a range of stakeholders - including group members, families, staff, facilitators and external partners - to understand needs, ideas and opportunities
- Help shape, validate and launch a new Travengers project
- Build relationships and explore partnerships, collaborations and referral opportunities
- Develop and coordinate a practical launch and growth plan
- Create or coordinate communications such as newsletters, simple campaign assets and social content
- Help generate interest, follow up leads and convert early sign-ups alongside our existing customer team
- Test what works, learn quickly and help us decide how the project should evolve
- Strengthen engagement and connection across the broader Travengers community
Who we’re looking forYou might come from community building, startups, partnerships, events, social enterprise, growth, tourism - or somewhere we haven’t thought of.
We’re particularly interested in someone who:
- takes ownership and follows things through
- is proactive and enjoys creating momentum
- can think strategically while also getting hands-on
- builds strong relationships and communicates with care
- can create structure around an early-stage idea
- has commercial awareness and is comfortable helping turn interest into sign-ups
- listens well and values co-design rather than assuming they already know the answer
- cares about inclusion, belonging and creating experiences people want to be part of
You don’t need previous disability-sector experience. What matters more is curiosity, respect and willingness to learn. The project
- Initial term: 3-month build and validation project
- Commitment: approximately 8-10 hours per week on average, with flexibility across the project
- Location: Sydney / hybrid
- Remuneration: project fee or contractor rate depending on experience and agreed scope
- Potential for the role to grow beyond the initial project if there’s a strong mutual fit
Don’t rule yourself outWe know great people don’t always tick every box in a job ad. If this sounds like the kind of project you’d love to be part of, we’d still like to hear from you. Tell us a little about something you’ve helped build or grow, and why this opportunity caught your attention.
