Salary: AUD $80,000 – $85,000 per annum + superannuation

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, experienced Cook to join our energetic kitchen team at a busy dining/catering establishment. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to take ownership of menu planning, food preparation, and quality control while contributing to a high-standard operation focused on fresh, quality ingredients.

Key Responsibilities

- Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality upon receipt and during preparation.
- Preparing, seasoning, and cooking food using a variety of methods and techniques.
- Operating and regulating temperatures of cooking equipment such as ovens, grills, deep fryers, and other kitchen appliances.
- Portioning food, plating dishes, and adding gravies, sauces, garnishes, and accompaniments for appealing presentation.
- Storing food appropriately in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain safety and quality.
- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements (e.g., gluten-free,



vegetarian, allergies).
- Cleaning and maintaining food preparation areas, equipment, and utensils to comply with hygiene standards.

Additional responsibilities may include:

- Assisting with menu planning and estimating food requirements.
- Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff or apprentices.
- Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (SIT30821 or equivalent); Diploma of Hospitality Management or Diploma of Cookery highly preferred.
- Proven experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen environment (restaurant, hotel, or catering preferred).
- Strong knowledge of food safety, and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team under pressure.
- Excellent knife skills, cooking techniques, and attention to detail in presentation.

Remuneration
- Annual salary: AUD $80,000 – $85,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
- Plus, compulsory Superannuation contributions.
