About the role
Link-Force Au is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Regional Sydney NSW, this role offers opportunities for skilled operators who are looking for casual employment within the construction and plant machinery sector. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating cranes on various construction sites, ensuring all lifts are executed with precision and in compliance with safety regulations.
This position is critical to maintaining project timelines and ensuring the safe movement of heavy materials and equipment across our work sites.
Key responsibilities
- Operating cranes safely and efficiently to lift, move and position heavy materials and equipment on construction sites
- Conducting pre-operation inspections and maintenance checks on crane equipment to ensure all safety systems are functioning correctly
- Communicating effectively with ground personnel, riggers and site supervisors to coordinate lifting operations and ensure site safety
- Adhering strictly to all health and safety regulations, Australian Standards and site-specific safety protocols
- Maintaining detailed records of crane operations, load weights and any incidents or near-misses that occur during shifts
- Setting up, positioning and securing cranes according to job requirements and site conditions
- Monitoring weather conditions and site conditions to determine suitability for crane operations
- Identifying potential hazards and reporting safety concerns to site management immediately
What we're looking for
- Current and valid High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) for crane operation in New South Wales
- Proven experience operating mobile cranes, tower cranes or other heavy lifting equipment in construction environments
- Strong understanding of load charts, rigging techniques and safe lifting practices
- Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination for exact operations
- Ability to work safely at heights and in challenging site conditions
- Current First Aid certification and CPR skills
- Sound knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and construction safety legislation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Physical fitness and ability to perform physically demanding work
- Reliability and professional attitude towards safety and punctuality
