Northern Health is seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Critical Care Registered Nurses to join the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team on a Fixed-term maternity leave cover contract.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community, and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospital Centres, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided across Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda, and Coburg.

About the Role:

This role requires a highly motivated and experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse to provide safe, evidence-based nursing care within a dynamic and fast-paced Intensive Care Unit workplace.

The role is responsible for delivering high-quality critical care nursing, supporting the management of complex and deteriorating patients, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team,



and contributing to the safe and effective functioning of the ICU service.

The position involves caring for critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring, organ support, and complex clinical interventions.

This is a Fixed Term, Maternity Leave position until August 2027.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Current critical care nursing experience in an Intensive Care Unit.
- Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Nursing (ICU).
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe, patient-centred care in a high-acuity environment.
- Proven ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for critically ill patients.
- Well-developed communication, teamwork, and clinical prioritisation skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to rapidly changing clinical situations.
- Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and ongoing professional development.
