Job Summary

Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation (WTOAC) is seeking an experienced Cultural Heritage Unit Operations Coordinator to support the operational delivery of Cultural Heritage programs and activities across Wadawurrung Country.

Working under the guidance of the RAP Cultural Heritage Manager, this role will coordinate and support the Field Services, Cultural Values Assessment and Compliance teams, while providing leadership and operational support to Team Leaders and Coordinators.

This is an important leadership role within our Cultural Heritage team, working collaboratively with Traditional Owners, Members, Elders, staff and external stakeholders to support the protection and management of Wadawurrung Cultural Heritage.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the operational delivery of Cultural Heritage programs, projects and activities across Wadawurrung Country.
- Provide leadership, guidance and operational support to Cultural Heritage Team Leaders and Coordinators.
- Assist with workforce planning and resourcing requirements for large-scale and long-term Cultural Heritage projects.
- Support the coordination of Field Services, Cultural Values Assessment and Compliance activities.
- Work collaboratively with Traditional Owners, Members, Elders and the broader Cultural Heritage team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with heritage consultants, landholders, government agencies, councils and other stakeholders.
- Support the management of Wadawurrung artefact collections, including storage,



cataloguing and re-burial activities as required.
- Promote safe work practices and support compliance with relevant OHS requirements.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen Traditional Owner engagement in Cultural Heritage activities.

About You

- You will be an organised and confident leader with experience coordinating people, projects and operational priorities. You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in archaeology, Cultural Heritage management or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams to achieve outcomes.
- Experience working in a senior Cultural Heritage management role, ideally with project and people management responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (Vic).
- Robust communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail, accountability and follow-through.
- A genuine appreciation and respect for Aboriginal people, cultures and self-determination.
