WE’RE HIRING — DELI ASSISTANT

Italiano’s Fresh Produce is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Deli Assistant to join our family-run business in the heart of Brunswick.

You’ll help serve our customers, prepare quality deli products and keep the department fresh, organised and looking good!

THE ROLE

- Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service
- Slicing, weighing, wrapping and pricing deli products
- Preparing and displaying meats, cheeses, antipasti and other deli items
- Recommending products and helping customers with their selections
- Replenishing displays and maintaining attractive product presentation
- Rotating stock and checking freshness and use-by dates
- Receiving and correctly storing deliveries
- Cleaning and sanitising slicers, benches, utensils and work areas
- Following food-safety, allergen-management and workplace safety procedures
- Assisting in other areas of the store when required

- Friendly, reliable and confident speaking with customers
- Passionate about quality food and excellent service




- Able to work calmly and efficiently during busy periods
- Solid attention to detail and pride in presentation
- Comfortable performing hands-on duties and being on your feet
- Available to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with rotating shifts between 7:30am - 4pm or 10am - 6pm
- Previous deli, food retail or hospitality experience is preferred, but training may be provided to the right person

Pay: $26.55 – $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week
