About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Dietitian Assistant to join our Nutrition and Dietetics team at Auburn Hospital on a part-time basis. Working under the supervision of Clinical Dietitians, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality nutrition care to hospital patients and contributing to positive patient outcomes. The role supports patient nutrition screening, menu management, nutrition interventions and communication between patients, dietitians and food service staff.

Tasks may include, but are not limited to:

· Assisting patients with menu selection and appropriate food choices.

· Completing nutrition risk screening and referring patients to Dietitians as required.

· Monitoring food and fluid intake and reporting nutrition concerns.

· Liaising with food service staff to ensure appropriate therapeutic diets are provided.

· Using the CBORD Diet Office system to support patient meal management.

· Maintaining patient records, departmental statistics and documentation.

· Assisting with quality improvement activities, resource management and department projects.

Essential Criteria:

· Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (Nutrition and Dietetics); or





· Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Nutrition Stream); or

· Relevant university nutrition qualification.

Selection Criteria:

- Demonstrated understanding and application of provision of clinical support to the Clinical Dietitian.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of therapeutic diets.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of CBORD Diet Office program and its role in hospital nutrition provision.
- Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team.
- Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
