We are an early-stage Australian startup growing our DevOps team and hiring a DevOps and Cloud Engineer to help own the infrastructure layer, reporting to the Director of DevOps.

n

This is a full-time role, Sydney based, with full working rights or permanent residency required.

What you will do

n

- Own and operate our AWS environment: EC2 (including GPU instances), RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC and supporting services
n
- Build a fully scripted teardown and startup cycle to control overnight and idle infrastructure costs

- Build and maintain the provider integration layer that connects our orchestration engine across multiple compute environments
n
- Stand up and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for the whole platform
n
- Configure performance reporting so it reflects real user-facing behaviour, excluding synthetic monitoring, health checks and internal test traffic
n
- Track infrastructure spend weekly and maintain a runbook and architecture summary suitable for technical and investor review

What you will need

n

- Robust hands-on AWS across EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch and VPC
n
- Proven infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, CDK or equivalent)
n
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines for multi-service backends
n
- Containerised workload deployment and GPU instance management
n
- Monitoring and observability tooling (CloudWatch, Datadog or similar)
n
- A genuinely cost-conscious mindset. You know what cloud costs and you manage it actively.
