About the role

You will provide individualised support to participants across Adelaide's Northern Suburbs.

Key responsibilities

- Personal care, including showering, dressing and toileting
- Manual handling and mobility assistance
- Transfers and use of mobility/manual handling equipment
- Supporting participants who may display behaviours of concern
- Following Positive Behaviour Support Plans and behaviour support strategies
- Using de-escalation techniques and maintaining a calm, professional approach
- Community access and social support
- Assistance with daily living activities
- Following participant support plans and individual routines
- Completing clear and accurate shift notes

About you

- Previous disability support work experience
- Demonstrated manual handling experience
- Experience providing personal care
- Experience supporting participants with behaviours of concern and complex support needs




- Ability to follow Behaviour Support Plans and implement strategies consistently
- Strong de-escalation and communication skills
- Excellent spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with participants, families and health professionals
- A caring, respectful and patient approach
- Confidence working independently
- Reliability and robust time-management skills
