About the Role

We are seeking Disability Support Workers who can support participants with their daily living, independence and employment-related goals.

You may provide support in participants' homes, communities and Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments.

The ideal candidate will be confident in building positive relationships and supporting participants to develop practical skills, increase independence and work towards their employment aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide person-centred support with daily living activities, including personal care where required.

- Support participants to develop and maintain independent living skills, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, time management and problem-solving.

- Assist participants to work towards employment goals, including developing workplace skills, confidence, routines, communication and independence.

- Support participants to access employment, education, volunteering and community opportunities.

- Provide mobility support and assist with mobility aids where required.

- Support medication routines in accordance with participant plans,



training and organisational procedures.

- Promote community participation, social inclusion and meaningful activities.

- Provide encouragement, companionship and emotional support.

- Implement positive behaviour support strategies and appropriate de-escalation techniques.

- Support participants to make informed choices and exercise control over their daily lives.

- Maintain clear and accurate shift notes, progress documentation and incident reports.

- Follow individual support plans, risk management strategies and organisational procedures.

- Work collaboratively with families, coordinators, allied health professionals and other service providers.

- Promote health, safety and wellbeing.

- Respond appropriately to incidents or emergency situations.

- Participate in ongoing training, supervision and career development.

About You

- Able to maintain professional boundaries and accurate documentation.

- Comfortable working with people with diverse support needs.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

- Certificate III or above in Individual Support, Community Services or a related field.

- Previous experience in disability support, community services, vocational rehabilitation or a related field.

- Understanding of person-centred practice and supported employment.

- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle where required for the role.

- Current required screening and compliance checks.

Highly regarded:

- Medication training.

- Seizure management training.

- Experience supporting participants with employment or vocational goals.

- Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies.

- Experience working in SIL or complex support environments.
