Supporting, empowering and providing accommodation services to Tasmanian's living with a disability, to develop their independence, has been how St Michael's has operated for over 50 years. Current Opportunity
St Michaels is growing every day and we are looking for suitably qualified, dynamic and energetic Support Workers who are dedicated, values-oriented and people-focused to support our participants with disabilities to live independently and achieve their goals.
This role operates across a 24/7 roster, which may include sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays and will include actively supporting participants with daily living skills, community access, promoting independence, planning, assisting with medication and supporting goal achievement.
The candidates we seek must be committed, motivated, reliable, maintain a sense of positivity, enjoy challenges, have good problem-solving skills, be a team player and show respect for the participant's individual choices and decisions.
Skills, Experience, and Checks
- Cert III in Individual Support (Disability) and/or Certificate IV Disability – or working towards
- Experience supporting participants with complex behaviours
- Experience supporting participants with medical conditions
- Medication endorsement (highly desirable)
- Availability to work across a 7-day roster, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers (by arrangement)
- Demonstrated computer skills
- Sound written and verbal skills
- Genuine interest in assisting people to succeed in quality-of-life improvements
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Card with NDIS screening
- Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
