Description
While all are welcome to apply for ongoing casual work, we currently have a need to hire full time and part time support workers for our SIL based participant’s support and personal care. Tired of juggling casual roles and multiple providers? Come and work with us and never juggle again.
The Disability Support Worker provides high-quality, person-centred support to participants in our Supported Independant Living houses under the NDIS. This role ensures participants are supported safely and respectfully across day, evening, and overnight shifts, promoting skill development, independence, and wellbeing in both home and community-based settings.
Key Responsibilities
Participant Support
- Provide individualised daily living supports, including personal care, mealtime assistance, community access, emotional regulation, and communication support.
- Support participants to access and engage in community activities, appointments, and social opportunities in line with their goals.
- Encourage active participation in routines, activities, and social engagement consistent with each participant’s Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) and individual goals.
- Maintain a trauma-informed and neuro-affirming approach in all interactions.
- Follow Positive Behaviour Support strategies and ensure all responses align with authorised and least restrictive practices.
Overnight Support
- Provide supervision and support for participants overnight, including responding to behavioural or medical needs as they arise.
- Complete night-time logs, incident reports, and safety checks in accordance with Lime Rainbow protocols.
- Ensure participants’ comfort, privacy, and dignity are maintained at all times.
Communication & Documentation
- Accurately complete daily progress notes, incident reports, and data collection logs (including QR-coded forms where applicable).
- Communicate promptly with Team Leaders, Behaviour Support Practitioners, and families regarding any incidents, risks, or changes in presentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold Lime Rainbow’s Child Safety and Safeguarding Policies.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow infection control, medication management, and emergency response procedures.
- Report hazards, risks, or incidents immediately in line with NDIS Practice Standards.
- Participate in mandatory and ongoing training, including restrictive practices awareness, first aid, and emergency response.
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with other support workers, practitioners, and allied health professionals to ensure consistency of care.
- Participate in reflective practice and supervision to build skills and confidence.
- Contribute positively to team culture and uphold Lime Rainbow’s commitment to inclusivity and respect.
