Sanctuary Care Services provides disability and aged care support to individuals and families across the Hawkesbury, Penrith, and Lower Blue Mountains regions. The team is composed of caring and experienced staff, many with lived experience supporting family members with special needs. The organization is committed to delivering the same standard of care and services it would want for its own families.

Sanctuary Care

Services currently supports NDIS participants with self-managed or plan-managed plans, offering community access, supported independent living, short-term accommodation, and in-home supports. The focus is on working collaboratively with clients to understand their needs and create practical, person-centered solutions.

Role Description

This is a full-time, in office Disability Support Worker role based in Yarramndi, NSW.

The Disability Support

Worker will provide direct support to people with disability in their homes and community, including assistance with daily living tasks, personal care, and household activities.

Responsibilities include supporting clients to access the community, attend appointments, and participate in social, recreational, and skill-building activities. The role involves implementing individual support plans, promoting independence, safeguarding wellbeing,



and maintaining clear documentation and progress notes.

The Disability Support

Worker will also collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure consistent, respectful, and person-centered care.

Qualifications

- Experience working as a Support Worker or in a similar disability or aged care support role.
- Experience working with participants with ASD3 and behaviours
- Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust and rapport with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Understanding of Safeguarding principles and commitment to upholding client rights, safety, and dignity.
- Basic Technical Support skills to assist clients with everyday technologies (e.g., phones, tablets, communication devices) as needed.
- Relevant qualification in disability, community services, aged care, or a related field (or working towards one).
- Knowledge of the NDIS and person-centered, strengths-based support approaches.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel locally as required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to respond to changing client needs.
- Compliance with all required checks (e.g., police check, working with children/vulnerable people clearances) as applicable.
