Queensland Drilling & Blasting Services is seeking multiple experienced Blast Hole Drill Operators to join our growing North Queensland operations.
We currently have opportunities for:
- Townsville-based roles — Monday to Friday
- FIFO / DIDO North Queensland roles — 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
- Multiple positions available across quarrying, mining and drilling projects throughout North Queensland
We are looking for experienced operators who take pride in production, equipment care and working safely as part of a professional drilling and blasting team.
Equipment You will be operating modern, well-maintained Epiroc drill rigs, including:
- T40 SmartROC
- T35 PowerROC
- T45 PowerROC
Experience operating top hammer blast hole drill rigs is highly regarded.
About You To be successful in these roles, you will ideally have:
- Proven blast hole drilling experience in quarrying, civil or mining operations
- Experience operating Epiroc T40 SmartROC, T35 PowerROC or T45 PowerROC equipment
- Strong understanding of drill patterns, hole depths and production requirements
- Good time management and ability to work unsupervised
- Basic mechanical knowledge and breakdown troubleshooting skills
- Strong focus on equipment care and completing daily pre-starts correctly
- Clear communication skills and the ability to complete required paperwork and digital reporting
- A reliable, proactive attitude with a strong can-do mindset
- Strong commitment to safety and working as part of a team
- 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off FIFO/DIDO rosters for selected North Queensland projects

Requirements Applicants should hold or be able to obtain:
- White Card
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Coal Board Medical where required
- Ability to pass random drug and alcohol testing
- Relevant site inductions as required
Certificate III in Drilling Operations is highly regarded but not essential.

North Queensland FIFO/DIDO — 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off
Ideal for operators looking for a structured equal-time roster working across our North Queensland projects, with travel, flights and accommodation provided where applicable.
