About the Role

As an Electrical Supervisor you will oversee all electrical works on Western Power underground distribution projects, ensuring compliance with the ESSR, electrical legislation, design standards, and safe work practices. The role provides technical oversight of jointing / consumer end electrical works, authorisation checks, switching oversight, and ensures only competent and authorised personnel undertake electrical tasks.

- Oversee all LV/HV electrical work on project sites (including mains jointing and network testing, consumer mains installation and commissioning and overhead powerline network construction).

- ·Verify worker authorisations as required under ESSR 2.2 (in association with Training Lead).

- Relay and enforce HSEQ rules and regulations, legislation and specific site instructions to team and subcontractors.

- Conduct site HSEQ audits as required, and, if necessary, direct the implementation of corrective measures

- Supervise cable jointing, equipment installation,



and commissioning activities.

- Ensure correct implementation of WP Work Instructions (e.g., cable identification, proving de-energised, excavation near cables).

- Confirm switching schedules are prepared correctly for LV/HV operations (in close association with Switching Operator and WP NOC).

- Provide technical support to jointers, electrical workers, and civil supervisors.

- Manage non-compliances, near misses, and incident escalations.

- Conduct field audits, toolbox talks, and competency verifications.

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients and key stakeholders as appropriate to the role, including having effective communication skills

- Manage the performance of subcontractors, labour hire and employees, provide coaching as required to support their development.

Essential criteria:

- Must have a WA Electrical Worker’s Licence

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory role

- Robust supervisory and people management skills.

- LV/HV Jointing knowledge and experience preferably for Western Power

- Being able to work in a team environment.

- Must be able to read and interpret utility plans / drawings and as constructed drawings

- High regard for safety and quality

- Intermediate computer skills
