Salary Range:

- Base Salary: From $72,290.40 (Grade 14, Step 1) per annum
- Plus: 12% superannuation
- Total Package: $80,966.00 per annum

The successful candidate will have access to step increases for the grade based on competency assessment and tenure within this position.

The Opportunity

Strathfield Council is seeking a motivated Environmental Projects Officer – Litter and Illegal Dumping to join our team.

In this role, you will help drive Council’s approach to litter prevention, illegal dumping, waste management and environmental sustainability. Work across Council and with the wider community, you will contribute to practical initiatives that deliver positive and measurable environmental outcomes.

What You Will Be Doing





- Lead the delivery of Council’s Litter Prevention Roadmap and associated initiatives
- Coordinate litter prevention, illegal dumping, waste and sustainability programs and projects
- Manage environmental projects from planning and implementation through to monitoring and evaluation
- Build effective relationships with government agencies, community groups, businesses and other key stakeholders
- Coordinate environmental monitoring activities and analyse data to measure project outcomes
- Prepare reports, grant submissions, funding acquittals and recommendations for management and external stakeholders
- Work collaboratively across Council to embed litter and illegal dumping prevention into day-to-day operations
- Support compliance and enforcement activities relating to litter, illegal dumping, waste management and environmental protection.

Essential Requirements

- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Community Development or a related discipline and/or extensive industry experience
- Proven experience in community engagement and education in sustainability, waste management or other environment-related areas
- Sound knowledge of the current NSW litter prevention strategy and understanding existing approaches for litter prevention to achieve litter reduction targets
- High level of organisational skills and ability to manage projects, including planning,



consultation, budget and grant management, as well as data monitoring and evaluation
- Demonstrated ability to review internal processes and work with stakeholders to identify key improvement areas and implement required process changes
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) including public presentation and meeting skills, and the ability to prepare reports
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
