About the role
We are seeking a Senior Advisor to lead strategic initiatives and stakeholder engagement to support seniors and vulnerable communities to stay safe online. The role is responsible for ensuring eSafety’s support for these communities is targeted, effective, and keeping pace with emerging technologies and online safety trends.
Key responsibilities include leading major initiatives under the Be Connected digital literacy program, including eSafety’s intergenerational Young Mentors initiative, and ensuring these programs meet the diverse needs of older Australians.
The role also oversees eSafety’s engagement with culturally and linguistically diverse communities, including managing the contract for in-language translation services to deliver high-quality, accessible resources aligned with best practice.
In this role, you will also:
- represent eSafety, engage and manage relationships with key stakeholders from across government and community
- build and maintain strategic relationships with peak bodies, community organisations and government partners, and promote online safety best practice across sectors
- manage existing and new procurement processes and contracts with suppliers
- manage the delivery of multiple in-language resources in line with best practice and adhering to Federal Government Language Services guidelines
- manage and respond to public enquiries in relation to eSafety’s work in this space
- contribute to the co-ordination of key eSafety projects
- produce high quality written work for a variety of audiences including briefings for senior management and government stakeholders
- provide advice within the team and across eSafety
- collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated program outcomes.
Our ideal candidate We are seeking an experienced and adaptable professional with a strong track record of delivering programs and building partnerships that support seniors and vulnerable communities. This includes:
- demonstrated experience leading and delivering co-designed online safety education and prevention programs that support seniors and vulnerable communities, including the ability to manage projects, prioritise competing demands and achieve outcomes
- demonstrated experience delivering accessible and inclusive content, including in-language resources aligned with Government standards and best practice
- strong stakeholder engagement,
communication and relationship management skills, sound judgement, and the ability to deliver results in a complex and changing environment
- experience leading, mentoring and developing others, and contributing to a positive and team-oriented team culture
- a collaborative, proactive and outcomes-focused approach, with a commitment to making a meaningful impact.
The following would be highly regarded:
- Experience working with stakeholders and organisations to build the digital literacy skills of seniors.
- Demonstrated experience delivering intergenerational programs.
- A demonstrated understanding and experience of Commonwealth procurement policies and procedures, and capacity to apply these in procurement exercises.
- A demonstrated understanding of online safety issues and emerging technologies and their impacts on seniors and vulnerable communities.
