Estimator (Building & Landscaping)

Purpose of the Role The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for building and landscaping projects. Working closely with project managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients, the role ensures projects are priced effectively, risks are assessed, and tenders align with project scope, budgets, and delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Review project documentation, specifications, and drawings to assess project scope and requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender submissions for building and landscaping projects.
- Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive and accurate quotations.
- Develop and submit professional proposals within required timeframes.
- Identify project risks and provide cost-effective solutions to support profitable outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project handover and delivery.
- Maintain estimating records, reports, and project information in relevant systems.
- Stay informed of industry trends, pricing, and market conditions to improve estimating accuracy.

Essential Requirements





- Proven experience in construction estimating and cost planning.
- Solid knowledge of Australian construction regulations, safety standards, and building codes.
- Experience interpreting plans, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction estimating/management software.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within the construction industry.
- Current QLD Blue Card (or ability to obtain) and National Police Check (or ability to obtain).

Desirable

- Experience in residential, commercial, or industrial construction.
- Experience with contract tendering and negotiations.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience using Aroflo or similar estimating software.
