The Role The responsibilities of each position vary.

As a Communications Specialist you will be:

- Developing and implementing communications and engagement strategies
- Supporting policy and program areas by providing strategic advice and developing promotional communications collateral to drive awareness around departmental initiatives
- Engaging and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Developing newsletters,



articles, and content for internet/intranet

As a Social Media Specialist you will be:
- Creating and publishing engaging social media content
- Managing channels, scheduling and community engagement
- Monitoring trends, analytics and audience insights
- Collaborating with communications and media teams

As a Media Specialist you will be required to:
- Drafting media releases, talking points and responses
- Monitoring media coverage and emerging issues
- Responding to media enquiries and coordinate interviews
- Working with communications and policy teams

The Ideal Person To be considered you will have experience and qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations and/or relevant experience in communications, social media and/or media. Additionally, it is mandatory that you are:

- Canberra-based
- Currently holding an active NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance
- Available for labour-hire and permanent transfer for APS employees
