The Harbour Shot

Sydney

About the event The Harbour Shot is a new golf challenge on the water at Darling Harbour. Players hit a shot from the shore at a floating target in the harbour, with prizes on offer. It runs for four weeks in the middle of Sydney, and we're putting together a crew to make it happen.

About the job

We're hiring ~20 casual crew for our first season. You'll work in one of two crews that rotate on a 2 days on, 2 days off pattern. That's about 3–4 shifts a week, with shifts from roughly 9:15am to 7:15pm across all 7 days. There's a paid training and test day on 8 October October, and we open to the public on Friday 9 October. There is a chance for some additional hours for a few crew members in the lead up to the event.

You don't need any experience because we'll train you. We just need people who are extremely reliable, friendly and happy to spend their days outdoors by the harbour.

Roles

- Event Crew & Marshals (10 roles): Welcome players, run check-in and the queue, help people on the tee, and keep players and the public safe. This is the heart of the event.
- Water Crew (4–5 roles): Help run our on-water operations. That includes our remote-controlled ball-retrieval boat, our support dinghy, and keeping the target area in positive order. A current NSW boat licence is required for this role. Experience with drones or remote-controlled boats is a bonus.
- Content & Social Crew (1 - 2 roles): Capture the big moments, film player reactions and near-misses, and help our channels grow. Send us your handles and your best content ideas.

A strong following is a plus but not essential, and good ideas matter just as much.
- Shift Leads (2 roles): Run the crew on your day, keep things on schedule and be the main contact on site. You'll need previous experience leading a team in events, hospitality or retail. Higher pay rate.

What we're looking for

- Available for most of 8 October – 7 November, including weekends
- Must attend the paid training day on 8 October
- Reliable and on time, with a positive attitude
- Comfortable talking to the public and working outdoors in any weather
- Aged 18 or over
- Working holiday visa holders are welcome
- Golf knowledge is a bonus but not required

What you get

- Casual award rates, with Sunday penalty rates, plus super
- A set rotation so you can plan your weeks, with 3–4 shifts a week
- Four weeks working on the harbour at one of Sydney's most unusual events
- First call for future Harbour Shot events

How to apply Email [email protected] with a short intro (a CV isn't essential) and tell us:

- Which role(s) you're interested in
- Your availability between 8 October and 7 November
