Pilbara Resource Group (PRG) is seeking experienced Excavator Operators to join our mining operations on a 2/1 FIFO roster, working days and nights.

We are looking for operators with solid open pit mining experience who can safely and efficiently operate excavators across production digging, material handling, bench preparation and ore/waste excavation.

About the Role

As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for:

- Safely operating excavators in an open pit mining setting
- Production digging, loading and material handling
- Working to mine plans, dig plans and grade control instructions
- Excavating ore and waste while maintaining correct material segregation
- Supporting bench preparation and general mining activities
- Working closely with Supervisors, Dispatch, Geology and other mining operators
- Conducting pre-starts and routine equipment inspections
- Identifying and reporting equipment faults, hazards and operational issues
- Maintaining strong production performance and efficient operating practices
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and equipment care
- Participating in safety initiatives, training and continuous improvement

About You

To be successful, you will have:




- Demonstrated experience operating excavators in open pit mining
- Strong production digging and material handling experience
- Experience working to dig plans and grade control requirements
- A strong understanding of safe operating practices and risk management
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a strong safety focus
- The ability to work day and night shifts on a 2/1 FIFO roster

Experience operating multiple excavator sizes or additional mobile mining equipment will be highly regarded.

Requirements

- Relevant Excavator competency / VOC
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Current National Police Clearance
- Valid working rights in Australia
- Ability to meet all site-specific induction and competency requirements
