Executive Officer opportunity based in Launceston - 12 month contract

Your new company

Hays is partnering with a large and well-established Tasmanian educational organisation to recruit an experienced Executive Officer. This organisation is focused on supporting its people and delivering positive outcomes across Tasmania. The role sits within a busy People and Wellbeing division and will work closely with senior leaders across the organisation.

Your new role

Based in Launceston, this is a 12-month contract opportunity providing high-level strategic, operational and executive support to the CPO and strategic team. You'll act as a trusted adviser to senior leadership and help keep the division's priorities, communication and day-to-day operations on track.

Your responsibilities will include

- Providing strategic and operational advice across the division
- Preparing executive reports, presentations, briefings and communications
- Coordinating priorities, commitments, information flow and diary requirements
- Monitoring programs, projects and key initiatives
- Supporting financial planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting
- Coordinating team events, leadership planning days and staff activities
- Managing competing deadlines and ensuring key requirements are met
- Identifying practical ways to improve processes and divisional operations
- Building strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners

The position operates in a confidential and complex environment, so sound judgement,



discretion and the ability to stay across multiple priorities will be important.

What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you'll have experience providing high-level executive, operational or advisory support within a large and complex organisation.

You'll also bring

- Strong judgement, tact and discretion
- Experience supporting senior executives or leadership teams
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong writing skills, including preparing briefings, reports and presentations
- Experience supporting budgets, projects and operational planning
- Confidence building relationships across different teams and levels
- Solid Microsoft Office and general digital capability
- A practical approach to improving systems and ways of working
- A calm and organised style when working under pressure
- You'll be someone who takes initiative, communicates clearly and enjoys helping a busy division operate effectively.
