About the role

Moppa Vintners Pty Ltd is a modern contract processing winery located at Nuriootpa in the Barossa Valley. We are seeking an experienced Cellar Hand / Operational Winemaker to join our small, hands-on team. This position would suit someone with solid practical winery experience who enjoys working in a busy contract winemaking environment and is comfortable taking responsibility for day-to-day cellar operations.

Key responsibilities

- General cellar operations and wine movements
- Strong experience with press operations, including setup, operation and cleaning
- Managing and prioritising workflow in a busy winery setting
- Wine transfers, racking, blending and additions
- Filtration and other winery processing operations
- Tank and equipment preparation and cleaning
- Accurate recording of cellar operations
- Working closely with external winemakers and the cellar team




- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping

About you

- Solid previous experience as a Cellar Hand, Senior Cellar Hand or Operational Winemaker
- Strong practical knowledge of winery and cellar operations
- Extensive experience operating winery presses
- Experience working within a contract winemaking environment
- Valuable working knowledge of Vintrace
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods and vintage
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A positive, practical and team-focused attitude
- Ability to work independently as well as within a small team
