Role Description The Experienced Town Planner will be a full-time team member based on-site in the Greater Brisbane Area. This role involves preparing and managing development applications, conducting planning assessments, and interpreting relevant planning schemes, legislation, and policies. Daily tasks include coordinating with engineers, surveyors, and project managers, undertaking site assessments, and providing planning advice to internal and external stakeholders.
The town planner will review design proposals, identify risks and constraints, and recommend planning solutions that support project objectives. The role also includes preparing planning reports and documentation,
attending meetings with clients and authorities, and contributing to strategic planning and subdivision layouts as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong town planning skills, including development assessment, statutory and strategic planning, and interpretation of planning schemes and legislation.
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams such as project managers, consulting engineers, surveyors, and residential building specialists.
- Proficiency in report writing, documentation preparation, and clear written and verbal communication for clients and regulatory bodies.
- Ability to conduct site analyses, assess environmental and infrastructure constraints, and propose practical planning solutions.
- Solid understanding of subdivision design, urban design principles, and residential development processes in the Greater Brisbane Area.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, or a closely related field.
- Experience working with local government planning frameworks and development approval processes in Queensland.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Eligibility to work in Australia and commitment to inclusive, ethical, and non-discriminatory planning practices.
