About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Field Training Advisor to join our Health and Safety team whilst supporting a dynamic workforce across multiple drilling projects throughout Australia. This role will provide expert Training advice and operational support to leaders and employees in a high-performance, safety-focused environment.
Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, working on a 2&1 field based roster, you will partner closely with operational leaders to deliver strategic and hands-on training support to the field, workshop and office employees. The role will ensure compliance with ASQA, TAC, LEGIRS, WorkSafe WA & SA and our clients.
Key responsibilities
- Assist HSEQ Manager in delivering training initiatives and projects
- Coordinate and administer employee training, inductions, refresher courses and competency assessments
- Develop, implement, and maintain training matrices for all operational and support personnel
- Ensure employee qualifications, licenses, certifications, and competencies remain current and compliant
- Ensure that duty of care is exercised in all aspects of work activities
- Operate in line with the Company Management System Procedures and Company Policies
- Provide professional advice and hands-on support to field operations
- Ensure Training systems, processes, tools and risk-based programs are effectively implemented
- Liaise with supervisors and employees to ensure attendance at required training
- Support employees in understanding and meeting training and regulatory compliance requirements
- Implement and coordinate Nationally Accredited and VOC training requirements for Drillers, Driller Assistants and other field staff including Fitters and Field Supervisors.
About you
- Previous experience in the Exploration Drilling Industry, surface RC or Diamond.
- Ability to travel to remote work sites on 14:7 roster.
- Knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and industry training standards.
- Experience coordinating nationally recognised training and Verification of Competency (VOC) programs.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining training systems, matrices, and competency records.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities in a rapid-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
Qualifications / Certificates:
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) (Mandatory)
- Certificate IV in WHS (Highly Desirable)
- Certificate 3 of higher in mineral exploration (Highly Desirable)
- C Class Driver’s License (Mandatory);
- HR Class Drivers License (Desirable)
Minimum three years' experience in a Training Advisor, Trainer/Assessor, or similar role within the drilling, mining, resources, or related industries.
