Growing Engineering Business | Broad Finance Role An excellent opportunity has become available for a technically strong Finance Manager or Senior Financial Accountant ready to step up into a broader finance leadership position.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will take responsibility for the integrity of the financial reporting function and oversee the day-to-day finance activities of a growing engineering business.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone with strong technical accounting fundamentals who is comfortable getting into the detail, reviewing the balance sheet, ensuring month-end accuracy and maintaining robust financial controls.

At the same time, you'll have the opportunity to broaden your exposure across commercial finance, operations and business partnering as the organisation continues to grow.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include

- Take ownership of the month-end and year-end close

- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger

- Prepare and review monthly financial and management accounts

- Own and review balance sheet reconciliations

- Review journals, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets

- Analyse P&L; and balance sheet movements and investigate variances





- Ensure appropriate application of accounting standards and policies

- Maintain and strengthen financial controls, policies and procedures

- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management

- Improve reporting processes, systems and month-end efficiencies

- Partner with operational stakeholders to understand business performance

- Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management

- Support and mentor junior members of the finance team

This position offers an excellent combination of technical accounting responsibility and broader commercial exposure.

For an experienced Senior Financial Accountant, it represents a genuine opportunity to step into your first Finance Manager position. Equally, it would suit an existing Finance Manager who enjoys remaining close to the numbers and wants a broad, hands-on role.
