We are a small fire company, having been in business for 17 years and still growing. We are seeking an experienced Service Manager or Senior Fire Technician with supervisory experience, looking to advance.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced fire industry professional with knowledge of wet and/or dry fire systems and a solid understanding of compliance and Australian Standards.

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

- Managing day-to-day operations and field teams.
- Coordinating technicians, subcontractors, projects, service and maintenance activities.
- Managing scheduling, resources, and operational priorities.
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Maintaining compliance with relevant Australian Standards, regulations and client requirements.
- Managing deadlines for AS1851 compliance, AFSS due dates and other client requirements.
- Overseeing service records, reports, inspections, and certification documentation.
- Assisting with quoting, including site visits if required.
- Monitoring productivity, job performance and profitability.
- Handling customer queries, particularly relating to compliance related matters.
- Supporting senior management with growth initiatives and risk mitigation.
- Willing to assist onsite if we are short-staffed, particularly if technicians call in sick, provided their scheduled work is within your qualifications and skillset.
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Providing leadership, mentoring and support for onsite technicians.




- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, develop systems, processes, workflow procedures and reduce operational risk.

About You

You will ideally have

- Experience in the fire protection industry.
- Strong knowledge of fire compliance legislation, BCA requirements and Australian Standards.
- Cert II in Fire Protection Inspect & Test, or previous experience as an Accredited Practitioner (Fire Safety) highly regarded.
- Experience managing technicians, contractors and operational teams.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Robust attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- A practical, proactive, and solutions-focused approach.
- A current driver's licence.
- A good level of computer skills.
- Experience with Simpro is preferred but not essential.
