Financial Crime Compliance Manager | 6-Month Contract | Sydney

About the opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Crime Compliance Manager to join a leading global financial services organisation on a 6-month maternity leave contract.

This is an opportunity for a technically strong Financial Crime professional to join an established Compliance team and act as a subject matter expert across Financial Security, KYC, AML and sanctions.

Experience within Wholesale Banking, Corporate Banking or Global Markets would be particularly beneficial, with the successful candidate bringing a strong understanding of the regulatory and Financial Crime considerations relevant to these environments.

About the role

As the Financial Crime Compliance Manager, you will act as a key point of contact for the business on Financial Crime and KYC matters, providing expert guidance on regulatory obligations and internal policies.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Providing advice and formal opinions on KYC files, AML and sanctions cases, alerts, RFIs and screening matters
- Acting as a subject matter expert across Financial Crime, KYC, AML and sanctions policies and procedures
- Providing day-to-day Financial Crime compliance advice to the business and escalating sensitive matters where required
- Monitoring changes to local legislation,



regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Assessing the impact of regulatory changes and supporting the implementation of required changes across the business
- Supporting Financial Crime governance, reporting and regulatory reviews
- Overseeing Financial Crime compliance controls and supporting control testing
- Coordinating responses to Financial Crime-related regulatory inspections and requests
- Delivering AML/KYC compliance training to the business
- Contributing to Financial Crime-related projects and regulatory change initiatives
- Working closely with senior Compliance stakeholders across Australia and New Zealand

You will ideally bring:

- Strong Financial Crime, AML and KYC compliance experience
- Experience providing compliance advice to business stakeholders
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and Financial Crime frameworks
- Experience interpreting policies and applying them to complex or sensitive matters
- Exposure to regulatory change, governance and compliance controls
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently and operate as a subject matter expert
- Strong stakeholder management skills
