Are you passionate about improving healthcare experiences for First Nations peoples?

Menzies School of Health Research is seeking a First Nations Research Officer to join the Communicate Study Partnership, supporting research that strengthens culturally safe communication in healthcare settings.

In this role, you will work alongside First Nations communities, interpreters, researchers and healthcare providers to improve health outcomes through culturally protected care. You will contribute to research activities, community engagement, data collection, project coordination and knowledge translation within a team-oriented and supportive team.

About You:

You are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person and motivated to improve healthcare experiences for First Nations peoples and bring a respectful, strengths-based approach to your work. You can work both independently and collaboratively and have an interest in health research and communication.

You will have

- Qualifications or relevant experience in public health, research, communication, anthropology, social sciences, Indigenous studies, or a related field.
- Experience supporting research or projects, including data collection, administration or coordination in community, workplace or university settings.
- Strong written communication skills for both academic and non-academic audiences.
- Experience or interest in community engagement and knowledge translation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn research and data management tools.
