Summergrove Estate has hosted thousands of weddings and welcomes couples and guests from throughout Australia and internationally.

While the setting is extraordinary, our reputation has been built equally on the experience we provide.

Our couples entrust us with one of the most important celebrations of their lives, and the standard of hospitality, attention to detail and genuine care delivered by our team is fundamental to maintaining Summergrove Estate’s position as one of Australia’s leading wedding venues.

The Role The Front of House Manager – Weddings & Events is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring that the hospitality experience delivered at every Summergrove wedding reflects the standard expected of Australia’s No.1 Wedding Reception Venue.

The Front of House Manager takes ownership of the complete reception hospitality experience — from the moment guests arrive until the final guest departs.

Working closely with our Venue Manager, Wedding Coordinators, Head Chef and broader venue team, the Front of House Manager leads the Front of House team and is responsible for exceptional food and beverage service, guest experience, venue presentation and the seamless operational delivery of each wedding reception.

The successful candidate will be highly visible on the floor, anticipating the needs of the couple and their guests, leading the team throughout service and ensuring that every detail is delivered professionally, warmly and effortlessly.

The Front of House Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional wedding and event experience from the moment guests arrive until the conclusion of the celebration.

As the senior Front of House representative during weddings and events, the Front of House Manager takes ownership of reception service, guest experience, food and beverage delivery, presentation standards and the Front of House team.

The role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong leadership and the ability to anticipate what couples and guests need before they need to ask.

The objective is not simply to provide excellent hospitality, but to consistently deliver the personalised, polished and seamless experience that has established Summergrove Estate as one of Australia's leading wedding venues.

Key ResponsibilitiesWedding & Event Delivery

Take operational ownership of Front of House delivery for weddings and events.

Ensure the reception venue, tables,

bars and guest areas are completely prepared and presented to Summergrove standards before guests arrive.

Coordinate closely with the Wedding Coordinator, kitchen and bar teams throughout the event.

Oversee the timing and execution of guest arrival, canapés, beverage service, guest seating, bridal party entrance, meal service, speeches, cake service, formalities, bar service and the conclusion of the reception.

Adapt service discreetly when wedding timings change while maintaining a calm and seamless experience for the couple and their guests.

Couple & Guest Experience

Act as the senior hospitality contact for the couple throughout their reception.

Anticipate the needs of the couple, bridal party and guests rather than waiting to be asked.

Regularly check that the couple have drinks, have received their meals and are comfortable with the progress of the evening.

Ensure elderly guests, children, guests with accessibility requirements and guests with dietary requirements receive appropriate attention.

Resolve concerns immediately, professionally and discreetly wherever possible.

Create a warm, genuine and personalised style of hospitality that reflects Summergrove Estate.

Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure food is delivered at the correct time, temperature and presentation standard.

Coordinate the Front of House team so table service is efficient, polished and cohesive.

Personally oversee allergy and dietary meals and ensure the correct meals reach the correct guests.

Ensure service is timed around speeches, photography and formalities and never unnecessarily interrupts important moments.

Oversee all Bar and Beverage Operations

Ensure bars are fully stocked and presented prior to guest arrival and appropriately maintained throughout the event.

Manage beverage packages, bar tabs and other beverage arrangements in accordance with the couple's package.

Ensure RSA requirements are maintained at all times and any issues involving intoxication are handled professionally, respectfully and discreetly.

Allocate clear responsibilities including table sections, bar service, food running, clearing and guest service.

Set and maintain expectations for grooming, presentation, professionalism and guest interaction.

Remain highly visible on the floor throughout service.

Identify service issues before they become guest issues and immediately redirect resources where required.

Coach and develop Front of House staff and provide constructive feedback following events.

Build a culture in which every team member understands that the guest experience is everyone's responsibility.

Venue Presentation

Conduct a complete Front of House inspection prior to every wedding.

Ensure tables, chairs, linen, crockery, cutlery and glassware are immaculately presented and consistent with the approved room layout.

Ensure bars, bathrooms, guest arrival areas,

outdoor spaces and all guest-facing areas meet Summergrove presentation standards.

Monitor lighting, temperature, cleanliness and presentation throughout the reception.

Operational equipment, clutter and unnecessary items should never be visible to guests.

Working with the Wedding Coordinator The Front of House Manager works as an operational partner to the Wedding Coordinator.

The Wedding Coordinator owns the wedding schedule, couple liaison, suppliers and overall flow of the wedding.

The Front of House Manager owns the hospitality execution within that schedule.
