Who we are The ECU Health Service assists students, staff and the university community with their health care needs. The primary function of the service is to provide our students with accessible and affordable health care for the duration of their studies.

In providing comprehensive patient healthcare, our medical practitioners consider and respect patients’ rights, identity, body diversity, beliefs, language, religious and cultural backgrounds.

Where we are

Located within the Wellbeing Precinct on the ECU Joondalup Campus, our AGPAL accredited, purpose built general practice is on the same floor as the free student psychological counselling services, the Living Room (a peer led support and guidance service), with free reserved parking close by.

This practice is located within a Distribution Priority Area (DPA).

What your day will look like

At the beginning of each semester, we see an influx of recent students, and in particular new nursing students seeking to complete their vaccine records for their course. To assist in this, our registered nurse led clinics streamline our appointment book, saving GP/NP time and effort.

An average full day for our medical practitioners will include routine vaccines, mental health care plans, skin cancer checks, sexual health screening and contraception, some antenatal care, routine medical attention and walk-in urgent illness or injury on campus. We are also equipped for cryotherapy, surgical removal of lesions and iron infusions.

Students are bulk billed or attract the equivalent fee from overseas student health insurance, and staff and other patients are charged private commercial rates.

Shifts

Sessions (AM or PM) available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Flexible shifts, two to six sessions per week.

We are open Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm.

No weekends, after-hours or on call.

Applications are now open for candidates who have existing work rights in Australia and unconditional AHPRA registration. We cannot accommodate sponsorship or supervision.

For more information, or to submit your CV, please email Laura Harnett - Practice Manager on [email protected] or call 0479 188 513 / 08 6304 5618.
