About the Role The Creditors Officer delivers accurate, timely and compliant accounts payable services that support Council’s financial operations. You’ll maintain creditor records, process payments, complete reconciliations and contribute to continuous improvement across financial systems and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver end‑to‑end accounts payable processing with accuracy and compliance
- Maintain up‑to‑date creditor master data and manage supplier credit applications
- Complete monthly reconciliations and assist with BAS, petty cash audits and credit card reviews
- Prepare financial reports including aged payables, creditor payments and GST‑related information
- Provide professional customer service support when required
- Contribute to workflow improvements and support training of new or relief finance staff
About You
Essential
- Experience in accounts payable administration
- Strong customer service focus
- Ability to manage confidential information
- Working knowledge of GST requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Competent computer skills, including basic spreadsheet design
- Sound numerical skills and high attention to detail
Desirable
- Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent
- Foundational understanding of accounting principles
- Experience using Civica Altitude or similar financial systems
- Class C Driver Licence
