About the Role
The Health Promotions Officer (Female) plays a vital role in enhancing community health and wellbeing in Tennant Creek, Northern Territory. This permanent, full time position focuses on developing and implementing health promotion initiatives that educate and empower individuals to make informed health choices. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with local health services and community organisations to address health disparities and promote healthy lifestyles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health promotion programs tailored to the needs of the community.
- Conduct health education workshops and seminars to raise awareness about various health issues.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community organisations to promote health initiatives.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of health promotion activities and make recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare and distribute educational materials to inform the community about health resources and services.
- Assist in organising community health events and campaigns.
- Maintain accurate records of health promotion activities and report on outcomes.
Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification in health promotion, public health, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in community health or health education is an advantage, but entry-level candidates are welcome to apply.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse community members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- A genuine passion for promoting health and wellbeing in the community.
Desirable:
- Experience working in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs)
- Remote NT experience.
