Southern Plant Maintenance is looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel / Plant Mechanic to join our busy workshop and field service team in Moss Vale. We're a locally owned and operated mechanical business servicing the Southern Highlands and surrounding areas. We work across a wide variety of heavy vehicles, earthmoving equipment, plant and diesel utes – so no two days are quite the same.
Key responsibilities
- Service, repair, diagnose and respond to breakdowns on heavy vehicles and trucks
- Maintain and repair earthmoving and construction equipment, excavators and loaders
- Work on diesel utes, 4WDs, trailers and farm machinery
- Perform hydraulic systems work
- Conduct field service and onsite repairs
- Assist and oversee apprentices
- Work independently in the field as well as part of a team
About you
- Qualified and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Plant Mechanic with attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Passionate about the trade and able to assist and oversee apprentices
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Confident working independently in the field as well as part of a team
- Reliable, honest and self-motivated
- Valuable communication skills and able to deal confidently with customers
- Current driver's licence
- Experience across heavy vehicles, earthmoving equipment, hydraulics and diagnostics highly regarded
