Clinical Leadership | Mental Health | Multidisciplinary Team
Lead the delivery of safe, accessible and effective mental health services supporting adults experiencing crisis and significant distress in the Alice Springs community.
HiTalent Recruitment is partnering with an established mental health organisation to recruit an experienced Clinical Lead based in Alice Springs.
This is a senior clinical leadership chance for an experienced mental health qualified who can provide clinical leadership, support a multidisciplinary team and build strong partnerships across the local community.
You will play a key role in ensuring the service provides immediate and short to medium-term responses to adults experiencing mental health crisis or significant distress, while helping shape service delivery around the needs of the Alice Springs community.
About the Role
As Clinical Lead, you will provide operational management and clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team delivering mental health support to adults experiencing crisis or significant distress.
Working closely with the broader leadership team, you will contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the service.
You will build and maintain strategic partnerships across the community, including with public mental health services, local government, community housing and health and welfare providers.
A key part of the role will be identifying service gaps and working collaboratively with partners, staff and consumers to develop appropriate approaches to service delivery.
You will also support the ongoing review of centre operations, ensuring clinical practice and service delivery remain aligned with the needs of the Alice Springs community.

About the Role
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality nursing care to consumers experiencing a range of mental health and wellbeing needs.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support consumers across community and/or clinical settings, contributing to their safety, wellbeing and positive health outcomes.
You will use your mental health nursing expertise to build therapeutic relationships, respond to changing needs, support people experiencing distress or crisis and work collaboratively with consumers and other professionals.
The role has a strong focus on working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities, with culturally safe and trauma-informed practice underpinning service delivery.
Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For
- Tertiary qualification in Nursing
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing
- Demonstrated experience in mental health nursing practice
- Experience working in a community and/or clinical setting
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care
- Experience working with people experiencing mental health challenges and/or crisis
- Strong emotional resilience and ability to work with people experiencing distress
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trust and maintain skilled boundaries
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing demands
- Sound clinical judgement and decision-making skills
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong computer literacy and written communication skills
- Experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities
- Knowledge and experience working with consumers who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
What the Role Requires
- Current AHPRA registration
- National Criminal History Check
- Current NT Working with Children Check (Ochre Card)
- Australian working rights
- Valid driver's licence
Who Would Suit This Role?
You may currently be working as a Clinical Lead, Clinical Manager, Senior Clinician, Mental Health Team Leader, Clinical Coordinator or Senior Mental Health Clinician with experience leading clinical teams.
You will have strong mental health experience and be confident providing clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary environment.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working at both a clinical and strategic level — supporting staff, improving service delivery, building community partnerships and helping develop services that respond to local community needs.
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities will be highly valued.
