Security Guard (Wacol, Queensland)

About the Role

ISS is seeking vigilant, professional, and customer-focused Security Officers to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll be entrusted with safeguarding people and property across a range of client sites. You’ll provide a visible security presence, respond to incidents, and help create safe environments where people feel confident and protected.

Whether patrolling premises, managing access, or responding to emergencies, you’ll be a key part of our mission to deliver high-quality, client-focused security services.

Candidates must be available to work a 36-hour week, consisting of 12-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and authorise entry and exit of staff, visitors, and contractors
- Patrol premises to detect and deter unauthorised access or suspicious activity
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, and incidents with professionalism and urgency
- Operate communication systems and maintain situational awareness
- Inspect and adjust security systems and equipment
- Prepare accurate daily reports and incident documentation
- Promote a safe and secure environment through proactive engagement
- Act in accordance with site-specific SOPs and ISS policies
- Perform concierge duties (if applicable), including front desk management and visitor coordination

What We’re Looking For

Essential Requirements

We're seeking professional Security Officers with a valid Security Licence to join our team, working 12-hour shifts and a 36-hour work week. First Aid qualifications are highly regarded.

- Valid Security Licence (state-specific)
- Current Driver's Licence (preferred)
- First Aid qualification (highly regarded)
- Experience in security, customer service, or team-based environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under pressure
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and exceptional service Desirable.
