Hale School is Western Australia's oldest independent boys' school. Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48-hectare site, approximately 13 kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast.

Hale School is seeking applications from enthusiastic, experienced and well-qualified professionals for the position of Junior Social Worker (Junior School to Year 7).

n

The Junior Social Worker supports the wellbeing, participation and success of students from Pre-Primary to Year 7 by working collaboratively with students, families and staff to address social, emotional and behavioural challenges. The role contributes to a positive and inclusive school environment through early intervention, counselling, advocacy, consultation and wellbeing programs, while strengthening partnerships between home and school.

The successful applicant will:

- demonstrate ability to establish positive and professional relationships with students, staff and families.

- have strong interpersonal, communication and advocacy skills.
n
- Experience supporting children and families experiencing social, emotional, behavioural or wellbeing challenges.
n
- have the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute positively to student support planning.
n
- have the capacity to provide individual and small-group interventions that build resilience, social skills and emotional wellbeing.
n
- have experience engaging families and connecting them with relevant supports and community services.
n
- have the ability to contribute to staff consultation and wellbeing initiatives across the school community.
n
- have strong organisational skills, including maintaining accurate records and managing confidential information appropriately.
n
- have the ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
n
- have a commitment to child safety, inclusivity, relationship-based practice and continuous professional learning.
n




- have tertiary qualifications in Social Work.
n
- have eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or equivalent qualified body.
n
- have previous experience working with children, young people and families.
n
- have experience in a school, education, community or child and family services setting is highly desirable.
n
- School Social Worker Credential is desirable.
n
- experience in a school, educational or multidisciplinary mental health setting is highly desirable.
n
- have a firm commitment to independent schooling and a willingness to support Hale School's values and Anglican traditions.
n
- have a current Working with Children (WWC) check.
n
- have a current National Police Clearance.
n
- a CV outlining their qualifications and relevant experience.
n
- the names and contact details of three referees, one of whom must be the current or most recent employer.
