Personal Care Worker – Home Care

Location: Sydney – Beverly Hills and surrounding areas

Pay: AU$41.26 – AU$45.79 per hour

Employment: Casual / Flexible shifts

About the Role

Right at Home Sydney Beverly Hills is seeking caring and reliable Personal Care Workers (PCWs) to provide high-quality, person-centred care to clients in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide personal care according to the client's Care Plan, including personal hygiene, toileting, nutrition and mobility assistance.
- Support clients with dignity, respect their values, beliefs, customs and rights.
- Assist with light household duties such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping/mopping, dishes, laundry and bathroom cleaning.
- Observe and report changes in clients' condition or care needs to the Clinical Care Manager/Care Manager.
- Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Care Managers and other members of the care team.
- Maintain client confidentiality and communicate effectively with clients, families and team members.
- Complete accurate service documentation using Right at Home systems.
- Follow all organisational policies, Work Health & Safety, Infection Control and scope-of-practice requirements.
- Participate in mandatory training, in-service education and ongoing career development.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required by the office.

Essential Requirements

- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing/Home and Community Care), Certificate III in Aged Care/Home and Community Care or equivalent.
- Enrolled Nursing students / Assistants in Nursing (AINs) are also encouraged to apply.




- Minimum 3 months' experience in aged care, residential aged care or home/community care.
- Current First Aid and CPR/BLS certificates.
- Federal Police Clearance.
- Current Driver's Licence and a comprehensively insured private vehicle.
- Sound literacy and numeracy skills.
- Understanding of the needs of older people and person-centred care in the home environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, emergency procedures, WHS and Infection Control.
- Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.

Scope of Practice PCWs must work strictly within their training, competency, the client's Care Plan and Right at Home procedures.

PCWs must not perform clinical or medical tasks such as:

- Medication administration
- IV/parenteral medications
- Wound/sterile dressing changes or irrigations
- Enemas or colostomy care
- PEG/nasogastric feeding
- Suctioning or tracheostomy care
- Heat therapy
- Toenail care or nail care for clients with diabetes/poor circulation
- Any health intervention not included in the Care Plan or delegated by the Clinical Care Manager/Care Manager.

Working Environment Work is primarily provided in clients' homes. Shift times and days vary according to client needs.
